Activated Charcoal has been used for thousands of years for cleansing and medicinal purposes. The Egyptians used it to clean wounds and it had been used to filter water. It was discovered that Activated Charcoal had a use in removing toxins in the 1800’s. When used in soap, Activated Charcoal can help remove excess oil from the skin. This attribute may be helpful with acne. Activated Charcoal is also an excellent exfoliant.

We at KMB Farms make our soaps in small batches using responsibly sourced ingredients. We strive use ingredients that have promising benefits. Our Charcoal Tea Tree Soap is made with the following all natural ingredients;
Castor Oil- There is limited research on the use of Castor Oil on the skin, however anecdotal evidence claims anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and cleansing properties.
Coconut Oil– Studies have shown that Coconut Oil may kill harmful microorganisms on the skin, reduce inflammation, have benefits for acne, and work as a moisturizer. In cold process soap, it creates a harder bar and helps produce more lather.
Olive Oil- Olive Oil has been used on the skin since ancient times, It is believed that Cleopatra was a fan. Studies show Olive Oil applied to the skin can help prevent signs of photo-aging and sun damage. Olive Oil is also good for breaking down waxy substances such as waterproof mascara.
Lard- Anecdotal evidence suggests Lard is good for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, tones the skin, and reduces dryness.
Activated Charcoal – When used in soap, Activated Charcoal is great for combination to oily skin. It has the ability to absorb oil and dirt from pores, leaving skin feeling fresh and balanced. It may also be beneficial in helping reduce acne. Activated Charcoal is also an excellent exfoliant. If you have dry skin, Activated Charcoal may be a bit too drying.
