Hi There! It’s Kathie with a little background on when and why I started making my own soap and cleaning products.
When I first got interested in making my own products, I started out with floor cleaner because we were using a commercial product that had proven toxic to pets and, at the time, we had five of them! Laundry soap was next, and my mission to have a healthy, toxic-free family and home began! I also liked the idea of how much money I was saving making my own products!
Next on the list was making body soap. By that time, I had read enough and learned enough about what commercial products are made of. These products contain chemicals and ingredients, whose names you can’t pronounce, and some have been proven to be harsh and even toxic to you, your family, and the environment.
Once we started thinking that we might have a shot at doing this as a business, I found it very difficult to figure out just what kind of soaps and such I wanted to make. There are some gorgeous soaps out there that are literally fit for royalty and I was like a kid in a candy store! The possibilities were endless. After experimenting with several techniques and ingredients, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to create a soap that would be USED, not just displayed on a guest bath sink or fancy spa. I wanted my customers to get a great product at an honest price that was simple, yet elegant, and as natural as possible with wholesome ingredients that are good for the skin!
Soon after, my target market was born! You could be anyone. You might live in the city or in the burbs. You might be the CEO of a company or a stocker at Walmart. One thing you all have in common is the importance of having healthy, safe, simple products that you can trust for yourself and your family.
